I dont think this belongs in the QB thread because it is about Shep and I think that discussion is more about JJ and JL. Do you guys think that if we had kept Shep at QB he would be anything like Denard Robinson? If we had a guy like Denard Robinson at QB we would be #1 in the country without a doubt. Do you think Shep would have been able to get to that level?

ETA: Sorry about the original Subject not being descriptive enough.

The million dollar question.

However, the way we call our offense, I doubt DR would have the same stats he currently has for UM.

People will argue with me, until they are blue in the face, that shep isn't a D-1 QB and that he can't throw, etc. but they are fricking retarded. We should definitely have shep at QB some. I still want him to move back to the position and take over next year.

Only if we had Rich Rod as our coach.

He's the only guy in the country that has found a way to take good athletes with little to no arm and height disadvantages to formulate a dominant offense.

Not with Crowton as the coordinator.

(while I'm not a Crowton fan, this isn't a bash on him... we just don't run an offense that enables a dual threat qb to that level. Short side option is not Rich Rod's option offense.)

Our offense would be a hell of a lot more fun to watch, that's for sure

Maybe with Rich Rod coaching him, but not with Crowton/Miles coaching him.

I wish we had the luxury of finding out. But the staff apparently squandered that opportunity. It's too late for him to become a QB now.

I don't think he's as big as Robinson. Also, since he's never thrown a pass in a game, we have no idea if he can throw as well as Robinson.
