There is only 1 question to ask...

after last nights game....What coach out there College or Pro can beat Nick Saban? What coach has what it takes to beat Saban and would want to come to LSU? OK two questions. This is what the $$$ people should be asking themselves right now. Bama did what they had to do. No I'm not talking about the curruption. They spent the money to bring in the best and now, we need to do they same.

LSU beats Bama in Death Valley this year

Nov 17, 2007 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
ULM 21, Alabama Crimson Tide 14.
Charlie Weatherbie beat Nick Saban with far less talent. I am sure he would love to come to LSU, but does that mean we really want him? Oh yeah there is a host of pro coaches that beat him while he was at Miami, I am sure some would come to LSU.

In college footballyou can not win consistantly without good defense and good QB play.

At the very least, you should learn how to spell "corruption".

He was 15-17 in the pros, so probably around 14-16 pro coaches

Right now we have MORE of a quarterback problem than anything. Not interested in engaging in any Saban conversation for coaching decisions. I'll save that for when the season is over.

While at LSU Nick Saban lost:
to an inferior Ole Miss team in Baton Rouge
to an inferior UAB team in Baton Rouge
to an inferior Arkansas team on last minute ~90 yard drive in Little Rock
to UGA and UF in back to back weeks on the road - both were rather embarrassing losses for LSU --- we were both outplayed and outcoached as I recall.
to Iowa in the Capital One bowl on the last play of the game ---- was this the same year (a game later) that we lost to Ark on their last minute long drive??? (see note below about foggy memory)
Seems to me we lost to KY too during that era -- but I had a few margaritas and then some beer last night and saw 2:30 AM roll around in the Nashville honky tonks --- so my memory may be a little foggy this morning
Bottom line --- Saban is a great coach -- but he's not perfect and personally his reputation is of being a cantankerous a-hole.... so WHY again do so many people think he's all that?
Let's see --- how would AL fans be feeling about him if UT had made just 1 of those 3 blocked FG's a year ago, and Auburn could have made freakin 1st down in the 4th quarter last year, and LSU had gotten that Patrick Peterson int and held their 4th quarter lead?
think AL would be ready to drop his arse if they would have lost 3 SEC games last year --- which they easily could have (but GRANTED they did not).
In the Les Miles era at LSU I can only recall 2 SEC games I think we really should have won and didn't -- 1st --- Arkansas 2006/2007 --- we got extremely lucky to make it into the BCS championship game based on that loss -- but we did and we beat tOSU soundly proving we belonged there.
and then of course Ole Miss last year --- which MILES fricked up --- but he admits he did and I don't think he will make THAT mistake again.
I saw a Michigan fan in Nashville last night -- they'd take Miles right now in a heartbeat.

Nick Saban came to LSU and took a program that had struggled for years and built a college football program the won a the BCS trophy in 2003 and became the team to beat in the SECW. He did not win every game but his overall piece of work while at BR is impressive. Since he has gone to Alabama he has put together a more impressive piece of work and once again he has the team to beat in the SECW. Les, stepped into dream job and in the past years he has it turned into a nightmare.

Ok, I'm not going to comment on the substance of this thread but I need to point out this quote.
What makes you think he WON'T poorly manage the clock like Ole Miss again? The same thing almost happened against Arkansas but we were saved by Ridley being ruled out of bounds. Additionally, we didn't manage the clock properly on the last drive against Penn State. People tend to forget though because the penalty gets most of the discussion.
With all of the inconsistencies in offensive performance, the only consistent element in our offense is the inability to properly manage the clock.

There are several.
But our coach isn't one of them. And that's all that matters.
