Anyone who reads this board knows there is quite a bit of negativity concerning LSU especially the offensive coaching staff. Admittingly, much of it is deserved based on last years debacle. I wonder though if watching the Saints offense operate every Sunday makes watching LSU on Saturdays that much more brutal. Has the success of the Saints offense changed our perceptions of what a good offense should look like? I wonder if we subconsciously are comparing LSU offense to the Saints offense and thus are over-reacting just a bit. Just a thought.

I could see it happening. Maybe not the actual points and all that shite but what I focus on is the way Payton gives his playmakers a chance to succeed. Like the way he uses Bush and Pierre. I guess I do subconsciously compare that.

Rise of Saints an Saban/Alabama have exponentially increased criticism of LSU's shortcomings.

lsu has always won at least 10 games a year and have always had the best coaches so you have to understand people are upset with this not winning a mnc every other year like were use too.

So far as I can tell, the primary effect of the Saints' recent success is that many of the bandwagon fans who used to ride LSU's nuts are now cozily snuggled in Payton's jock, pretending that they have been fanatical black and gold supporters since the dark days of the 1970's.

(P.S. I am not from New Orleans nor am I a saints fan. Just my impartial observation.)

Couldn't agree more. It kinda pisses me off to see all the people in North Louisiana trade in their Cowboys mailboxes for Saints ones.

people were negative on this board at least as far back as 2005, and the Saints weren't exactly tearing it up

After watching last night, I stand corrected. Offense plain and simply just sucks due to Jefferson's lack of ability to read the defenses and make quick decisions. Hard to tell who is open without the coaches cam, but on play in particular Jefferson was intent on throwing the out to Randle and almost got picked. TE was running the seam wide the f open. Teams are going to continue to stack the box and play zone defense which will hurt our ability to run and make Jefferson find openings in coverage and deliver accurate passes (which as of now he can do neither). Time to give Lee a chance. I'd rather a few picks than what I saw last night. Just horrible.

It's amazing how the times change. Who would have ever thought we would be talking about how great the saints were!

since Day 1 SP has coached his players, he always been in there asses, it's just lately he's mellowed down, but SP plays all his players and gets good usage out of them. There is no comparison between him and Miles!

I get what you're saying, but I think the Saints actually make it easier to deal with LSU. There has been a complete 180 degree flip flop in that regard. At one time, there were 50 people at a time in the purple and gold sports shop and 10 in the black and gold right next door. It's the exact opposite now. I can't stand the bandwagoners either, just stating an observation.

It sure feels like the LSU fanbase is getting apathetic.

Nothing Miles can do will change that for some LSU fans. It will always be but Saban this, or Saban that. Comparing every single thing to Miles. That and ppl still have yet to get over that Saban left.

you guys keep using Saban as the scapegoat when you can clearly see the bad coaching out there when LSU plays, so just go on and keep using Saban as an excuse!

Bad coaching is bad coaching cletus. I went to the bama game last night, and that is were our swagger has transferred to. No one fears anymore. The way D1-aa teams are playing, I am a lil afraid of Mcneese
