Public Opinion

Regardless of your opinion of betting games there were a lot of people that took a bath on LSU's futile performance against North Carolina. The Line opened at even was taken off the board then repoened at LSU minus 6.5 going all the way to LSU minus 10 prior to kickoff. That means millions and millions of dollars were bet on LSU because of the public perception that LSU should be able to stomp an undermanned opponent. The problem with this performance on National Television is that it severely damaged our reputation. You can call it a win if you want but it was a disgraceful performance that showed once again the total lack of discipline this team plays with. Turnovers and penalties are, by in large, a sign of unprepared teams. A game like this gives you some idea of how people get down on LSU. We represent the SEC when we play games like this and other fans of SEC schools expect us to be able to play to that high standard. This current staff is an embarrassment to the proud tradition of LSU Football. But it all makes sense when you think about it when your making 4 million a year where is the sense of urgency to do anything different! Les is Suffering from Jamarcus Russell syndrome.

takes a bunch of goofballs to bet on 18-23 year olds.

You missed the obvious point.
Don't risk your rent money on the performance of post adolescent boys.
BUt all your angst aside, I'd like to point out one simple fact. LSU WON. And that's what people recall the most.

Now we're scraping the bottom for things to complain about. Why do we care about sports betters?

Reminds me of the Ole Miss spin. Same story different year GT.

We are just not as good as most of us think. This is a harsh reality than sooner or later most of us are going to have to get use to. We are 3rd or 4th best in the West. If your ok with paying a guy 4 million a year to run a team that way fine. I am not ok with it. With that pay comes some goddam responsibility! If your playing an inferior opponent you blow them out of the game. When this team was well coached we didn't let inferior opponents hang around we smashed them! Its great fro morale. Listen if your going to keep raising prices give the fans something! I like to see us stomp an occasional team, that doesn't happen anymore with this staff there is no killer instinct!

I guess this means that all the bettors that were burned will stay away from LSU the rest of the season or bet against them, moving the line in LSU's favor. Maybe I'll break my #1 rule and put some money on LSU this year.

Call me a goofball, but I called it and made 1G. I am freakin happy right now. I knew better than being tempted to take the over. That was trap waiting to happen and exactly what I said the day of the game came true. So while others are bashing the performance (including myself in many ways), I am feeling pretty good right about now.

Can't disagree with anything you said, although I would say the players we are recruiting are just as goos as anyone's. They are just not being developed. Also, the lack of QB recuiting and OL attrition are factors that can be blamed on the head man.

Oh my god, stfu. I didnt bet this weekend, but I have in the past and if you or anyone else really is gonna condemn gambling on college football which is a huge industry and not to mention a damn good time when you're out in Vegas, you're an a-hole. Seriously, this opinion of yours is ridiculous.

Lost my parlay....
Ore St to cover - win
Coastal Carolina to cover - win
LSU.....
Thats why you never bet on your own team folks.
I must admit I really wasnt even thinking about my parlay when the game started getting close, especially UNCS dropped TD passes.....
