I know you can't on Federal properties (Bayou Cocodrie-Ferriday), but I think you can on WMA's.

Unless it has some how been implemented without my knowledge, it is legal to use lead on WMAs. It's been probably 5-6 years since I squirrel hunted on a WMA, but it was legal at that time. NWR's are different and to the best of my knowledge, you must use steal shot.
While we're on the subject, I was in Cali a couple weeks ago and they had some newspaper articles about outlawing all lead bullets due to the condors eating lead bullets and dying. I really have mixed emotions about this, but it seems that the lead bullets could be banned only in the areas the Condors live. Just a random thought there. Really don't know why I brought it up.
