Obscure but very good movie - In the Loop

Watched it last night and again this morning. Maybe better the second time because of thick British accents and very fast delivery. This movie made me laugh more than any in several years. Think Office Space meets Burn After Reading on steroids. Lots of insults and profanity but simply outstanding writing. Classic British dark humor. If this movie has been discussed it does not appear on the search function. Low budget and feels more like a long sitcom than a movie but the cast is very good and the writing is great. This would be one of the most quotable movies if anyone knew about it.

Very, very good movie. Funny, yet very observant.

I put subtitles on and watched it twice because the jokes were so quick. One of the funnier movies I've seen in a long time.

The British aide was just great with is withering cruelty.

parts of it about washington are painfully true as well. power plays from generals who just want another star rather than doing the right thing, capitol hill being run by baby faced post-grads, meaningless facetime with 'diplomats' and 'ambassadors' which really equates to sterile coffee meetings and forced smiles ... a mere PR stunt rather than policy brainstorming
on top of the dialogue aiming to kill, it amounts to a funny and embarrassingly honest portrayal of dc politics.

Yeah he's on the Office too. I watched it on a plane so it was kinda loud and I probably missed out on some of the dialogue but I liked it a lot. When that lady's teeth started bleeding I was laughing pretty hard, enough to make my seatmates look at me like I was crazy

Just don't call him English, (he is Scottish).

One of my favorite quotes from the movie:

I can't stand to see a woman bleed from the mouth. It reminds me of that Country & Western music which I cannot abide.

I thought it was sarcastically quick-witted comedy. And it rocked.
Also that american chick was the girl in My Girl! I used to be in love with her.

Malcolm Tucker: I've just come from a briefing with a nine-year-old child.
Linton Barwick: You're talking about AJ. AJ is one of our top guys. He's a Stanton College Prep, Harvard. One of the brightest and best.
Malcolm Tucker: Well, his briefing notes were written in alphabetti spaghetti. When I left, I nearly tripped up over his fricking umbilical cord.
Linton Barwick: I'm sorry it troubles you that our people achieve excellence at such an early age. But could we just move on to what's important here? Now, I understand that your Prime Minister has asked you to supply us with some, say, fresh British intelligence, is that true?
Malcolm Tucker: Yeah, apparently, your fricking master race of highly-gifted toddlers can't quite get the job done...
Linton Barwick: All right.
Malcolm Tucker: ...between breast feeds and playing with their Power Rangers. So, an actual grown-up has been asked to fricking bail you out.
Thank you, imdb....
