7 wins and he gets another year.
He will not get a roll over again until he wins the SEC Championship.

Okay, I realize UNC will get a mud hole stomped in it, but just raelize UNC fields 28 athletic teams and they all compete at the highest level with world class athletes.

Same for LSU. Also for the ACC, if you really studied the league and look at the NFL draft, Pro Bowl, etc. you would see it holds its own with the SEC as the two top overall leagues. It is true that the ACC has not had the two dominant teams found in other leagues. 3 or 4 tears ago it took an 11-1 Penn State team 4 OT's to beat an FSU team with 4 league losses.

No disrespect here, LSU is a great team with great athletes. Not in any way disputing SEC as the best football league. I also do not believe if you lose, that it should indicate you will have a bad season.

I don't care where the money comes from, releasing a well liked, susccessful coach with his type buyout with the state colleges, including LSU, undergoing major funding woes is not going to happen. imo

Some on here would say we could get an up and comer for <3MM. We probably could, but would we want to risk this with the buy-out. I do not think so... I say it is like the stock market, sometimes you have to hold on until it starts to rise again. If after say 20 years - see Cholly Mac - then someone can force him out. I bet the fine people at TAMU would love to Have RC back after they forced him out. Here is a guy who averaged 9-10 wins a year. Look at Solich at Nebraska as another example. It has taken Nebraska a while to bounce back.

NE bounced back big in their 2nd year under Bo P, our former DC. AL bounced back even bigger in their 2nd year under OFHC. AU has apparently bounced back after 2 years under whatever the guy's name.
Sorry but after 6 years, should we really have so many unknowns with our head coach?

8-4/5-3? Borderline, but I'd bet he stays. Crowton gets the boot, unless the team is scoring 35 points a game.

He definitely stays at 8-4.
Crowton has already been set up as this year's excuse.

I tried to tell our fans this last year when we were going to UDub and it fell on deaf ears then after, oh yeah, they're legit

We played like shite the whole game, they were better than we anticipated, and we still had a 31-16 lead with under 2 minutes to play, and won by 8. It's not like we lost the game.

but if not, im guessing he'll be gone in due time and we'll get a better coach..

It pretty much never works that way.

Huh? It pretty much normally works that way. If coaches don't succeed, they usually get fired. When bad coaches get fired, they are at least frequently, maybe usually, replaced by better ones. Notably, at LSU, the only time we have ever fired a coach and not found a better one to replace him was when we fired Archer and got Hallman. Even in that case, it's arguable that Hallman was better because he at least recruited well and restocked the team with talent after Archer had pretty much drained it.

You could try to argue the McClendon situation here, but that doesn't really apply because he was here for 18 years, wasn't technically fired (we just didn't extend his contract when it ran out), and his replacement never got to coach a game because he got killed in a plane crash before his first season started.

i haven't completely ruled out the possibility of miles having a good season and him staying longer.

I think it's more probable than possible...but I guess that depends on the definition of "good season".

I worry that he won't be fired even if he doesn't have a good season, whatever you define that as. But I would be very surprised if we win more than eight regular season games, and I'm actually predicting that we only win seven.

What africking moron...a wet behind the ears moron that has no clue about what it takes to have a winning program. There are fricking 15 teams in the country that think they should win it all every year.....fricking idiot.

From your juvenile response, it appear your are happy with eight and nine win seasons. This is the same attitude that keeps LSU from being a national power, or even in the national discussion. If you are happy with a 8-8 SEC record the past two season, I understand how you tolerate and even support Miles.

Well, I'm a lot more "happy" with 5-3 in the SEC for 09 than I was with 3-5 in 08.

I don't really understand why any LSU fan would not be "happy" with such an improved SEC record, but each to our own.

To those saying UNC '10 = VT '07 it would seem that would have to mean that LSU '10= LSU '07.

Surprised to hear that is the case. Had no idea yall would be that good this season.
