I only post this because there were some here saying LSU should have goten this kid and some saying no way. Also I kept reading here from a few MSU fans at how great he was going at State. I guess it doesn't matter anymore. Always seemed like a good kid.

Says he is transfering to JUCO for personal reasons.

Conner said his decision to leave was more personal than anything else. “I felt if I wasn’t happy somewhere, I wasn’t going to play to the best of my abilities,” Conner said. He plans to transfer to Copiah-Lincoln Community College, where he’ll play in advance of going through the recruitment process one more time.

I don't remember what the deal was with him, but for being the 16th ranked athlete in the nation, and 11th overall in LA, his offer sheet wasn't too impressive

Fla,Ala,Tenn,Ok,Plus, add USC and about 50 other offers not listed. It's too early in the morning to be smoking weed, son.

you might wanna check on how many of those were legit or for him at RB. If you remember correctly, many thought he might be a LBer, but they wanted to see him at camp there 1st. So, most of those offers were probably conditional, and State was one of the few that agreed to RB

Where's your link? And where in this thread is his offer list limited to RB? Oregon, for one, was a RB offer by the way, as was Fla.Not sure about Bama, Tenn, or Ok.

I didn't realize I needed to link info that was so recent, that many remember. I watched the kid play many times and was impressed with the type of athlete he was but thought he wasn't tough enough and ran to upright to play RB in the SEC unless those things hopefully changed, which I stated several times. Just because a kid has a huge offer list it doesn't mean all of those offers are commitable, we all know that

Info, is that what we're calling gossip now?

He's already been contacted by several of the schools who offered him out of HS.

I remember him being projected as a LB, as well. If all of those other offers had been for him as a RB (which is what he wanted to play) he would not have ended up at Mississippi State.

Thats good, I hope he does well. I actually pull for all of our local guys to do well. I just got frustrated with all of the homers that thought LSU had messed up not offering Conner, when I didn't see what all the RB hype was about outside of his appearance. I had actually hoped he might try LBer at an LSU camp, succeed was my hope, and keep more local talent in-state. My comments are more for those Recruiting Board regulars who have been around and remember all the talk we had about Conner back in the day, since I'm not going to dig for it, its not worth my time

Agreed, LSU has plenty of backs. It would've been great for him to be at LSU but it just wasn't in the cards.

And to the poster above, he went to state because he liked:
1)Croom
2)the offense they ran
3)how close to home it was
4)how Dixon was being used

He lands at JUCO and hopes he can prove he can play RB..

No schools have contacted him yet, always love those rumores. They would all be in violation of NCAA rules as he hasn't been given his release from MSU yet.

The deal was he should have been strictly defense. But, if he want's to play RB then he'll have to follow the same road as Brandon Jacobs.

I was told by some pretty reliable sources. What are you going off of?

Yeah that would never happen

The contacts were from coaches calling Miss State coaches though out the day on Thursday, and probably Friday.Expect him to be at an SEC school next summer.

Mullen will not release him to a SEC school. He will not be in the SEC unless he goes to JUCO and then graduates from JUCO and goes to SEC school.

As far as nobody does that in reguarding breaking NCAA rules, many do, but they do not when it comes to a kid that is still under his letter of intent to another school and hasn't been released. That will get you more penalties than BAma and USC got put togahter.
