Watching "The World of Hunting" on the hunting channel and this dude Ken Killen kills a 6-7 year old buck in Louisiana that has never had any antler growth on its head Says they have been watching him a long time. Chases does, makes scrapes, ect but no antlers. I've never heard of such and that would suck major arse to have in a gene pool.

I've heard of antlered does and seen a old buck with stubbs for horns, but don't know if I've heard of a completely antlerless buck before.

He said they knew about it for 3 years.

BTW, deer weighed almost 275. Neck looked like an elk.

We popped one 3 years ago like that. We watched him all season. He had spaces(no hair) where his horns should have been, but were'nt. Had to get rid of that gene.

Why? Soon as I saw a mature deer with nuts and no horns, he is coming out of the gene pool, right then, right now.

We kill several of them a year on Raccourci Island. We call them Muley bucks. I killed one a couple of years ago 200lbs.

yeah, my cousin killed a big one last year there. Apparently they kill them all the time on the Island...

You would think that gene would be bred out as antlerless bucks would be in a severe disadvantage in battling antlered bucks for does.

Are you questioning the deers weight? If so, you have definitely never been the NW part of the state. There's a lot of beanfield bruisers running around that will push 300. Well, maybe not a lot, but 250+ is very common.
