I think many have missed the significance of yesterday's trade

I think the blue print is pretty clear and the pieces are now in place, Monty just has to get the most out of them.

Thornton looks like he is letting out a fart in that picture.

Obviously West isn't going to be a HOFer, but he can be good enough for the Hornets. He put the team on his back and scored 30 or more 8 times last season. West has the ability, he just needs to bring his A Game once a week instead of once a month.

West should have a lot less pressure on him this year. What I don't like about his game is that he will shoot that 16-18 foot fade away over and over again whether or not he's hitting it. Our offense grinds to a halt when he's not making that shot

Pretty good match to the Jazz...I have to agree. This team has the ability to be a top 4 seed this season in my honest opinion. Now only we can get rid of Peja.

Or if peja can just manage to keep his back from spasming...

He was great that year, but he really has been terribly frustrating since. He was exposed in our playoff series against the spurs, and it's been all downhill since

Peja can be an asset if his minutes are down and he's healthy. Big if, sure, but he still stretches the floor when he's out there.

Malone looks like he was just forced to pay child support.

Less pressure for West is a good thing. The guy is not a legit #2 option for a good team in the NBA.

MT5 must be the #2 offensive weapon for the Hornets to show improvement this year.

But even then, that frontline is horrible which will really bite the Hornets at some point, especially if West or Okafor go down to injury (Okafor's pretty durable, West is an undersized PF who just turned 30 though).

Ostertag only played 20ish minutes for those Jazz teams that made the finals. Granted Malone was a more significant paint presence than West, but I think the Hornets can get by with a center by committee approach if they find a long athletic guy to add to the Okafor/Gray mix. Jason Thompson has been expendable in Sac for a while now and getting Dalembert, Cousins, and Whiteside makes it more likely Sac will try and move someone.

He's not 30 yet. And he played pretty well last year considering what he was working with.

Yes, but you have to factor in 'stay healthy' as well- in comparing CP3 to Stockton, remember, Stockton was very durable, never missed a game until very late in his career...same goes for the Mailman...

As long as no one makes errant, length of the court passes as we're trying to milk the clock late in games, I think cp3 will be just fine
