Any update on this kid?

i know LSU is in the running for Ely, but if that falls through, wasn't dmitch mentioning something about him and LSU?

He recently made a trip to Oregon. Said he confirmed his commitment and told Chip Kelly he'd be taking no more visits. Maybe dmitch can chime in?

"After seeing this place in person for the first time there is no where in the country that stands up to it," said Randall. "No one beats this and I've been to some of the best programs in the nation. Everything is top notch and amazing. Dream come true for me."

"I already had my visit set up for the 18th of September and I can't wait to come back and be here again," said Randall.

I understand he's also forging a strong friendship with fellow Duck-floridian Tacoi Sumler.

This dude is a diehard Dennis Dixon fan, loved his visit, loves Chip Kelly - he's probably locked in for good. BUT, if a parent were to decide to influence things, I could see the dreaded "distance factor" rearing its ugly head. But at this point?

In the words of Jay-Z, "On to the next one" You aren't getting him away from Oregon and him and Lache are going to be deadly together in that offense

How nice! Nike Corporation has bought themselves their very own football team! Nifty.

Exactly. There should be something against that. I know T. Boone Pickens donated over $100 million for Oklahoma State, but that's a person, not a corporation. Why should they be the only ones who benefit from Nike that much just because it so happens that Nike's headquarters are up in Oregon?

Well the founder of NIKE went to Oregon.

It's not Nike, it's Phil Knight.

Okay, but still, it's NIKE everything. You see the swoosh all over that facility, so it's not like this money is coming out of Phil Knight's pocket, it's coming from his corporation

The same thing is true of all major boosters - ours is just richer and more blatant with it because of the particular type of business he got rich off of (sports apparel/sports marketing.)

It is his money.

He has sold his stock and made donations from his own pocket. The university of Oregon wasn't the only beneficiary of his selling stock. The residents of Oregon received a kicker check.....only because Phil Knight sold so much and had to pay taxes on it to Oregon. Otherwise, no checks were going to be mailed out.

This.

It just doesn't do Lod Cook much good to put his company logos all over the place at LSU.
