For those of you that may have been hoping for Don to pull off a triumphant return, looks like it might never happen. Saw him at the courthouse about a week or so ago, and he said the bank "took" his restaurant, and that he was trying to get the key from them so he can get his equipment out.

I didn't wanna tell him that the same bank that had a lien on the building probably had filed attachments on his equipment too in order to secure whatever debts he had with them.

He didn't look good, (he was using a walker)and would have probably keeled over right there if i had told him that.

I wish Pedigos was still open at Jefferson and Tiger Bend. The man knew how to cook a steak. Can't say the same for the current occupant.

Sorry to hear that, I've known him since he did tune ups out of the back of a van.

Anyone know what Donald Ray is up to these days?

i always loved pedigo's .. only place in BR i ever ate quail at .. he had really really good steaks too .. i was disappointed when he shut down la pedigo's on my side of town .. i guess that dallas drive location just died a slow death .. i didn't realize the bank had foreclosed on him .. never like hearing that for anyone ..

I have a building around the corner and a friend of mine was a waitress at lunch there for years. One day all the cops started flying around and some colored guy ran past my building holding his side. Turns out he went into Pedigo's at lunch of all times tried to rob them and someone eating a steak (think an off duty cop) shot him and he ran. My friend was out the back door smoking a joint when he comes busting by her. She was pissed because with all the cops coming around she had to put out her joint. That was great.

I know Curtis. Isn't that Don's younger brother? Even though Curtis is in his sixties.

How long has it been closed? I cut through there all the time and really just assumed it was still open.

Exactly...It's called BJ's..not really sure why ...I'll have to ask him..great food...I stop by often when I'm in the area....Donald Ray is still....well....Donald Ray....stop in and talk over old times with him...he will keep you laughing.
Sorry to hear about Don....but never count him out...that cat has 12 lives....He has gone from rags to riches so many times he doesn't know the difference.

I was there when the robbery took place the dude went to the back bar and held them up...a uniformed cop who was eating in the front just waited around by the bathroom for the dude to come through the front...when he did he told him to freeze and drop the gun...he spun and the cop fired....Don gave that cop free lunches for the rest of his life...or whenever he closed ...whichever came first.
