A friend has to go to LC. She'll have a little extra time to tool around. She loves to find locally owned grocery stores, similar to Calvin's or Maxwell's. Are there any such animals in Lake Charles?

The most local you'll get in LC is probably Market Basket

Forgot about that, not much of a supermarker though. Damn good food though.

Neither is Maxwell's, and that was one option she asked about so I figured I would suggest it.

I love they sell chicken legs for 59 cents/lb. at least one week a month. I but like 10 lbs worth and freeze that shite for BBQ and gumbos.

Cormie's has better boudin IMO

Can't argue there. I never buy their boudin. I get my dad to bring some from Boudin King in Jennings when I need a fix since he comes to LC often. And when I go to BR tomorrow I'm gonna have some from Poche's in Breaux Bridge for lunch

Stop and treat yourself to a lb of Don's boudin, it's my new favorite, I've never had a boudin with so much meat. twss

I've been eating since I was a child on the way to LSU games, so there is some sentimentality in my case. It has less meat the Don's, but it has a better flavor IMO

One time about 4 years ago when I was there for work. It was good but I wouldn't go out of my way for it when Best Stop, Don's, and Poche's are so much easier to get to for me. If I ever found myself in Milton I'd probably go get some
