If you were the coach, how would you utilize our offensive weapons? What type of offense would you run?

Everyone knows the rant is the better coaching staff, so i'm curious to see what you would run

I would look at Arkansas...

Multiple WR looks, power running game, p/a pass...no garbly-goo going on in the backfield

I'd run the wing T

Murphy and Ford at wing

Ridley at T

Bounce in and out of Multiple TE and WR packages.

Put Shepard in motion all over the place. Motioning to trips and quads overloading the D.
Jet sweep, Power, and OOOOOLD TRAP.

Running the ball would get safeties in the box for one on one with Toliver and Randle.

D. Peterson would be wide open when set up.

I believe that defense wins titles so I would be a defensive guru or hire one. I would build the strength of my teams around the lineman. I would work hard/recruit to establish good offensive and defensive lines and be able to run the ball well. If you do this you don't put all the pressure on your QB. It's easier to throw and your QB can just be a good decision maker. The best offense is a balanced offense in my opinion. Sounds like a national title recipe.

I would want to see Shep run out of every formation. Not just wild-tiger, or shotgun. Mix it up, kinda like we did with trindon in 07'.

more crossing routes. we never stretch defenses horizontally with our passing game.

Also more screens on non screen downs (1st down)

The ideal is a balanced offense between pass and run. This does not always occur. If I did not have that I will take a good running game and dominant defense everyday.

Gotta have QBs that aren't scared shitless to throw this pass.

We fricked up screens all year last year. I've never seen a football team stumble over such a simple play in all my life. Our O-line definitely wasn't taught how to hold & release down field.

-------------

It won't matter if they see it or not, it will be unstoppable this year because of our tremendously improved offensive line, made up entirely of "beasts," to use the description for all of our olinemen when they were recruited.

Also JJ and JL are both now wearing Shape-Ups like Joe Montana and these have improved their posture, vision, decision making, and their forty times by over 1.2 seconds.

We'll average 25 yards plus per carry on that play.

Who says GC can't figure out how to use his talent!?

And buy the right shoes too.

1.Get ball to shep
2.Get ball to Mike Ford
3.Get ball to RR and TT

Lots of quick passes and runs and let our playmakers do work.

Single-wing formation, try to keep it out of our QB's hands as much as possible.

I would run a balanced offense. Ditch the 5 WR formation, ditch the short side option. I would also play Shepard at QB at times and set him up to pass at a crucial point. Use Ford and Ridley as my two backs, and use Murphy as a quick receiver (screens, dump offs, etc..)

Most importantly, I would stick with what works. If we are running well, I would call more running players, If we are passing well, I would call more passing plays. Seems very basic, but Crowton tends to avoid things that work.
