Just rewatched Inception in my theater over here, and I just thought of something else. IF the end was all a dream, would it have really mattered if the Totem toppled? I noticed the film that Arthur defined the Totem as something only you know the exact weight distribution to, so you will know if you are in someone else's dream or not. Well if you were in your own dream, and since you know the exact weight distribution to your totem, would the totem work to tell whether you are in a dream or not? Aside from Limbo, none of the Inception/Extraction levels happen within Cobb's dream space, to where the Totem should still function properly on those levels. If Cobb ended the film in his own dream world, or had been in his own dream world all along, would the Totem have worked despite still being in a dream?
