How many of those QB's won a national title at the school they went to. Not sure how many games T Martin started in the NFL, I think 0 but could be wrong. He won the national title with pretty much the same team Peyton had. We won a title with two guys named Matt to which neither has played a meaningfull minute in any NFL game. Haven't seen much of Jason White, Chris Leak, C Krenzel or even Dorsey since they won their National titles. Come to think of it there really isn't a full time starter in the NFL that won the National title in the last 10 years. Young can't stay healthy and doesn't look like he will be leading anyone to an NFL title anyway. Matt Lienhart can't beat out an ageing Warner for crying out loud and when he does get in doesn't look the part even with all those weapons. Point is, just because they are NFL starters doesn't mean they would have won titles for LSU.

LSU has 3 titles since 58. There are a lot of schools (90% or more) that wish they could say they had LSU's problem. Most would even be happy with just 1 title for crying out loud.

Joe Ferguson is from Texas, and all the others in bold went to tiny schools, some not even D1. LSU didn't exactly "miss out" on these players. Those players just happened to surprise people. I mean Ben Roethslesberger(sp) went to Miami of Ohio, Steve McNair went to Alcorn, Joe Flacco went to Delaware, and the list could go on forever. It happens.

Joe Ferguson might have been born in Alvin, TX, but his hometown is Shreveport, where he played high school football at Woodlawn High School.

Joe Flacco went to Delaware
After he transferred from Pitt because they wouldn't play him. Flacco was a big-time recruit.

If by big time recruit you mean a 3 star QB who was the 39th ranked pro style quarterback in his class, then yeah you'd be right.

This is a good point. Alabama hs five titles since 1970, and only one startin quarterback (Richard Todd). Florida, for all their great college quarterbacks, has yet to have one do well in the pros- the same for fsu. In college its alot more about the coach and his system i think.
