It says on the back of all games if its in 1080 or 720. I can only speak for PS3 games. Not sure if they are listed on the back of Xbox games.

and "video output in full HD 1080p requires an HDMI cable and a 1080p native display with an HDMI input supporting HDCP"

whatever the hell that means

if you have a 1080p tv, you have to go into your ps3 video settings and turn off 1080i and 720p...(you cant turn off 480p) only problem is you lose 720p to Netflix instant, unless you reenable 720p everytime.

even if 1080p is selected, 720p will be used if it is also turned on...

the only way to rid this is to turn off 720p... which like i said can be a pain if you want to watch high def Netflix.

Wow, I have a netflix capable Blu Ray player in my bedroom. It makes perfect sense. Now I know why it looks ten times better than on my living-room TV. Damn PS3! Why can't you figure out to convert to the best resolution!
