I feel the Pastimes is a piece of BR nostalgia that has run its course.

I'm a fan of their pizza, but many on this board aren't. My dad always gets the hot sausage poboy. It does have a lot to do with the nostalgia of the place, but you could eat at much worse places

You could do worse than the roast beef poboy. Pastime won't wow you, but it's not bad.

My favorite memory there while at LSU in 75. Watching the world series game 6 and C.Fisk hitting the homerun to send it to game 7. Good times and cold buds. Good pizzas and po-boys. Bar tenders were grumpy old men.

I love the roast beef poboy. That's the only place in town where I'll get one.

I like their pizzas. Love the boudin pizza, and the Downtown Special, and they are local, so I fully support them.

when you get down to old, unique places to eat in BR .. it is basically gino's, pastime, fleur di lis, poor boy lloyd's, and that is about it ... not much course out there to be running ..

I'd add Jay's Barbeque.

For some reason, BR isn't big on restaurant posterity, though.

Gov't street is the one I'm referring to.

I don't think I've ever been to the one on Sherwood.
