Oil has began washing ashore in Destin

Here on vacation, and about an hour ago tar balls started washing ashore. It's pretty depressing to see.

Eta: Looking down the beach from our balcony there are still people in the water. It may be isolated.

That really sucks!!!! Link below shows the sheen approaching Destin with a southeasternly flow.

NOAA nearshore surface oil forecast: Moderate SE winds (7-12 kts) are forecast to continue through Wednesday then become E on Thursday/Friday. Trajectories indicate developing westward currents within the Mississippi Bight region will begin to inhibit further movement of the slick to the east. Coastal regions between Ship Island, MS and Panama City, FL are threatened by shoreline contacts within this forecast period.

My good friends gf who is from there just made her fb status that it has reached Destin.
