Please explain this to me- cause I dont get it. Are some of these countries' way of life so bad that they literally live or die with this?
I even saw some clip of Americans crying after the England tie, wtf?
And dont give me the natiional pride bs- i have pride in the USA but im not crying after we win or lose a freaking soccer match.

Save your crying for when LSU beats Bama or Fla.

The people who are really fans of these teams really fricking love them. Like irrational levels of love. I'm not sure if I can explain it.

you've never gotten teary eyed after your team has won a big game?

It really reminds me of those crazy people that you saw crying at Michael Jackson concert clips... all fricking nuts!

I cried when I was at the games when LSU won both National Championships in football.
I really like soccer, but college football is my #1 so thats why I am so emotional. I can totally see how people cry when their team wins big games.

I don't see how they are alike at all.

Irrational connection to something or someone that literally means nothing to that person's day to day life.

Well that's retarded...but there's nothing wrong with crying after winning or losing big games, and this match was HUGE.

its hard to really understand it. the saints superbowl win just made me super pumped.. and felt so surreal.. but the minnesota game to get to the superbowl almost always gets me a little teary eyed..

It's one thing to cry when you aren't suppose to win, but when you cry after a tie in a game you were suppose to win. That is gay.

Exactly. It can't really be explained. I mean, didn't people cry when the saints won the NFC championship. The stage is just as big.

That's being pretty condescending. Like it has been stated, plenty of people love their teams enough to cry tears of happiness for them when they win. If you invest time and energy supporting a team then you are entitled to do what you want.

I live and die with it, and I'm a white middle class American, that lives in a 3 bedroom house, and drives a four dour car. My standard of living ain't that bad.
It's called passion.

I shite you not there is a clip that they have been playing on the World Cup primetime show on ESPN where this American fan is crying like a bitch after the England tie

yeah i think it has something do with a connection and overcoming all the odds..
crying over a loss is something to hate.. but no reason to hate on shedding a tear over such incredible feats..

This event happens every four years...this game was a do-or-die game. To score in the final minute of a 90+ minute game to advance was amazing...It was Emotional Patriotism.
