If you can't handle this, then stay in the student section. Most of the rest of the stadium is full of old assholes who insist you sit down so they can see the game. It's a joke. The only place I truly enjoyed sitting was in the athlete's family section, and in the North endzone next to the student section. Those people still get down.

Is that why the stadium was only 1/4 full after the 3rd quater last year in the overtime Arkansas game????? That was an embarrassement.

This is BS. I was there and almost everyone stayed the entire game.

I have been in the South Endzone since 98... we can stand all we want during a play... you just have to learn proper etiquite. You can't just stand up the whole time, but during any play that means anything or if something big happens during a routine play, everyone stands up. No big deal.

And FYI, I sat in the student section, about half way up in the mid 90's and we only stood for big plays. Now the bottom 10-20 rows stand the whole time, but the rest of the students don't.

I love going to games and when I was a student I had fun with friends at the game in the student sexction. But by halftime when everyone left it got aggravating. So basically only the big games were fun over there. I am very into the games. I'm not into dancing and pointing or running in place after each down. I watch the games, see who is playing, and pay attention. Don't have the patience to sit by a retarded frat guy who could care less. So for me I will stick with my sideline seats. I understand most people aren't like me and don't even watch every play. For those who are there socially I'm sure the student section is great.

Saw my first game in '70 from the SEZUD, sat in the SS from 82-85, and now back in the SEZUD.

IMO, TS has lost some of its rowdiness for the lesser games; due mostly to almost all the games being on TV now (back then you had to be inside the stadium to watch the games), more games, more lousy OOC games, maybe higher expectations now than then.

But for the big games it's as good as ever and still the best thing going in CFB.

I yell almost incessantly and stand frequently in the SEZUD and have never been asked to sit. Great alternative to the SS.

The student section started going downhill with the "oh-we-oh, you suck" chant. That embarasses me to have been a part of that section at one time in my life. Then again, we were probably just as immature and I just didn't know it because I was in the middle of it.

I don't know though, I was still an old fart just a few years ago and at times I looked at the student section as an asset to the crowd of Tiger Stadium. Now they are more of a liability of the annoying fans that come to games.

Example: frick you Tebow, you suck Tebow, Saban sucks, etc. is not clever and is on the bush league side.

I think the very last of the "good student section" was around '05.

The student section served it's purpose for me back in my day. The kids were rowdy. You felt like you were a part of something bigger than you. Waiting in line 2 hours ahead of time so you could get a decent seat. (In 98 you had to get there early just to get any seat good or bad because LSU LOVED to oversell the SS) Pretty sorority girls getting shite faced and puking into their frat date's lap all the while trying to look sexually desirable. Frat dudes getting into fights and getting kicked out of the game. Getting doused with Jim Beam and Coke every TD we scored. Sweating like a whore in church for 3 or 4 hours yet not remembering the details of the game because I was in a drunken stupor.

Now I'm in my 30s. I like to tailgate with my friends for hours on end and walk up to the gate about 30 minutes till kickoff. I sneak in my own liquor in my pocket because they won't violate your body in the public entrances. It's nice to have some space between me and the guy next to me (at least enough to where I'm not smelling his BO). I very rarely leave TS at the end of the game smelling of cheap alcohol mainly because I don't poor it on myself. The girls are a little older but just as beautiful plus they won't puke on your seat when you make a trip to the bathroom. I yell my arse off when we are on defense. I jump up and down and high five everybody when we score a TD or make a great play. I've seen some of the best games ever played in TS from the NEZ and remembered all of the details. Let me tell you, there is an old guy behind me that celebrates every TD like it maybe the last one he sees before he dies. I love that dude. I can bring a date to the game and still have a conversation with her. I've never once been told to sit down because I was blocking the view of some legendary old hag that apparently populates the entirety of Tiger Stadium.

Basically I've accepted the fact that I'm not in my teens or early 20s anymore and I'm pretty happy with that.

More power to ya if you're 36 and like the SS.

As much fun as it is, the student section is for students - 18-22 year old students (or thereabouts). It's time to move on, dude...

I remember my first time in the stadium post-graduation. It was the "Bring Back the Magic" game vs. Auburn in 1995. It was the first time that I realized people actually sit for LSU games. It was then that I also learned that the "Geaux Tigers" first down cheer doesn't actually end in "Kick their arse!" (which it sounds like is still the official student section ending).

It's a transition to the non-student section, but it can be just as much fun. You just have to be a little more civilized.
