Rick Jones and socks in pants

This old story came up over the past weekend and I could not remember all the facts. I remember some story about Rick Jones(Tulane's baseball coach) stuffing socks in his pants early on in his career at Tulane. Is my memory right or am I just imagining things?

You were correct, it was back in the early 2000s when Tulane was a decent team but couldn't get noticed so he did crazy stuff like that.

A former assistant coach of his started the rumor. I doubt it's true but it gets a few laughs.
