Doesn't it look like the USA Olympic basketball team from like 2000 and 2004. A collection of "all-stars" but when you put them together, not even close to the makings of a true team. We would play teams that played like a "team" and lose embarrassingly. England seems just like that. JMO.

I still think they're overrated as well. I mean, seriously, Heskey and Crouch both seeing meaningful playing time is laughable.

It's only going to get worse for England, as there isn't much youth talent in that country right now.

Not really comparable. The U.S. has THE dominant league in basketball. In soccer, there are multiple.

They don't even really have that many all-stars. They basically have three, maybe four. Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Cole (maybe).

That's it. Its not like they've got Shaq, Kobe, LeBron, DWade, Kidd, etc (best in the world at every position). They are terribly overrated.

Agreed. They just aren't that good. You cannot force a round peg in a square hole. Gerrard and Lampard should never be on the pitch together. They are horrendous when playing together.

Bite your tongue. There are USA supporters on this board who sweat Lampard is the second coming of JC.

Just speaking the truth. It is easily apparent watching them. The English play with more tension than any squad I have ever seen. There is no flow and therefore no creativty. They have no shot.

What would you do if you were Capello? I'd drop either Gerrard or Lampard, go to the 4-3-3, put Lennon and Cole on the wings.

Unfortunately, my reality radar is in full focus after watching the US get denied one of the greatest comebacks in group stage history. I will be OK tomorrow after realizing that a point is actually a great result. Thanks Dandy.

It's bittersweet to some extent, but meritorious. We will move on.
