Is Texas practically a LOCK for the BSCCG about every other year

Think about it. There path to the BSCCG now is win one neutral site game against a team they are more talented than (OU). Their biggest threat is GONE.
There is no conference championship game now. A round robin with BYU and Air Force now?
OCC, Texas will always play a joke team in a 2 for 1 and the other small school Texas rivals.
Texas will start every season in the top 5 due to talent. They will go undefeated (IMO) at least every other year for a while (maybe 3/5).
I say get ready for Texas as a fixture in the BCSCG for YEARS.

i dont know how- but everyone seems to forget OU has won the conference more than UT the 5 years. before that, stoops was running a monopoly on boys from austin. lets tap the breaks on UT never losing another game b/c nebrask and colorado are gone

Look at the recruiting the last 3-5 years. OU is a threat, but Texas has been getting stronger and stronger. They are more talented than OU.
And this just makes Texas stronger, richer, and with less competition.
I fully believe Texas is about to become a fixture as the team that plays in the BCSCG more so than anyone for a while. Get ready for it.

no, much like to big x and pac x was on the outside looking in the last few years, that will be the big xII champ. no cred with a weak conference and no champ game. see cinn this year. undefeated in big east, no n.c. game.
why you think the big x and pac x expanded? they were on the outside looking in for the n.c. game, public perception, and t.v. contracts.

Wrong. 2/3rds of the formula is the polls. Texas will start EVERY season in the top 5 and go undefeated more often than not. They will end #1 or #2 and go to the BCSCG.

Exactly. Neb was getting better quickly and the championship game was a chance for them to lose against a decent team each year.

Good point. All they have to do is beat OU (not always easy as it seems), avoid any embarrassing last-game upsets over A&M (again, not always as easy as it seems), and don't schedule any really talented OOC games (can't have all Tulanes on the schedule but definitely avoid anyone that's a real BCS contender -- i.e., no Boise State), then you get in to the BCSCG.
Then with all the $$$ they'll get from their Bevo Network, they can bribe the pollsters into voting in their opponent from the Big10++ or the PussyAssConference11, but by no means anyone from a REAL football conference (the SEC).

UT is now USC. Get used to it.
LSU needs to worry about winning the SEC. Win the SEC and you are in the title game. And if you win that title game, it will be sweeter than the UT titles.
In effect, UT is even smarter than USC. They are really Boise but without the baggage of being a mid-major.

Maybe, but get used to seeing them there. And they will win one every now and then with the talent they have. Also, SEC schools are going to get extremely pissed extremely quickly when some PAC-pussy team or a down year in the BIG Ten = an undefeated team getting picked to play the undefeated Longhorns over a MUCH more deserving 1 loss SEC team that played a half dozen quality teams and lost once. None of which even play a conference champ game.
