4 of 9 on the BOR are solidly behind the SEC move. The rest are undecided. With the president having a vote and majority rule, 2 more votes are needed. A vote could come as early as Thursday. Calls to one particular regent have been 10 to 1 in favor of the SEC. The biggest problem appears to be Byrne. The PAC 16 plan was hatched prior to anyone thinking the SEC was seriously in play and Byrne promised Dodd he could deliver the Fightin' Texas Aggies. Now Byrne is embarrassed and cannot seem to get passed it. Absent some decisive piece of info making the PAC 16 better financially for A&M, how in the world could a Regent vote against the overwhelming wishes of the Aggie Nation.

Swallow your pride Dollar Bill. A better option has come along.

Isn't Stallings also on a board that elects College Presidents for all the colleges in Texas?

Gene Stallings, past coach of Bama and A&M, is on the board of regents for A&M. One of the Junction Boys, he and Bear are our like to Bama.

Let's mess with texas....

It's not only a "better" option, it's a "superior" option.

Let's face it, the PAC 10 is USC and nine underachievers. If Texas and Oklahoma join the PAC 10 and bring along OK St. and Tx Tech, it's still USC, Texas, Oklahoma and the 13 underachievers.

He's on the Board of Regents for the Texas A&M system.

If you're wondering why we have multiple state university systems...I have no idea why, but we do.

4 of 9 is from the proverbial horse's mouth. There very well may be 2 others leaning SEC but only 4 have definitively stated such.

You guys need to dump Byrne. He's ok in basketball T&F, but has no clout in football.

Aggs should be racking up TX elite HS players.

I knew he was on the Aggies BOR, I thought I heard on the radio the other day that he was on some other board that the governor appointed him to that had a say in other systems. I must have misunderstood or they mispoke.

I would love to see A&M in the SEC but I just want it to work out in the best interest of Aggies. The SEC will be fine even if a mega PAC 16 conference is constructed. Why the Big 12 would want to lose their regional identity is hard for me to understand but such is life.
