WTF is this? Does anyone else feel that this is the perfect time for BS to walk the walk and man up? Get a real conference and play some real teams and then you can actually earn all the BCS glory that they seem to crave but don't seem to want to earn.

major conferences gain nothing getting Boise. they have an extremely small TV market and play in the middle of nowhere. as a fan, it makes sense for them to be in a big conference, but what a fan wants doesn't mean squat when its all about money

I don't feel this is true. Hold out for a while and see what happens and I'm sure they jump in the back door somewhere. Too many teams changing seats right now. Worst case they go back where they came from. MWC? What's the point?

Who is going to take them? The Big 12? The Big 12 is falling apart and will be no more by Tuesday evening. The SEC? They are too far away and bring nothing in the way of money to the table. The Pac-10? They're getting Texas and Oklahoma. They don't need Boise State. The Big Ten? I doubt very seriously you'll ever see Boise get an offer from them. The Big East and the ACC won't offer them for the same reason the SEC won't offer them.

The Mountain West is probably about to become a pretty decent conference. Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, and Iowa State are about to join a conference that - with the future inclusion of Boise State - already has TCU, Utah, and BYU. That's a pretty good line up that maybe able to compete for an automatic BCS bowl berth once it gets settled.

Seriously, Boise sucks:

1) They suck in every sport but football

2) They're not a big market

3) Their academics are at a JUCO level

Monday was the deadline for Boise State to join for 2011 for BCS qualifying purposes. The MWC is trying to qualify for a BCS bid and it's alot harder to do without having BSU's success count in the MWC stats. Not a real vote of confidence for Boise State when the MWC waited until the last possible minute to add them.

no way they put up the same kind of record in the MWC. They will wear down with that level of competition compared to the WAC

OK, this is why I need to start keeping up a little better.

See how long it takes you to scroll down to find Boise State University. They are dirt poor and literally have the resources of a Junior College. No major conference will ever want them. (hint: #491)

It could shake out a whole lot different, but I don't see the schools going anywhere else but the MWC. That may change if the Big Ten offers Missouri or Kansas to join. But I don't know if they will.

Mountain West is a step up for them.

They applied a few years ago AND WERE REJECTED!!!

Presently there are three real good teams in the MWC besides Boise.

TCU, BYU and Utah. Air Force is usually decent and sometimes Colorado State is decent. There is nothing like that in the old conference Boise just left. Boise's schedule 2010 is #87.
The best team on the conf schedule is IDAHO.
Think about that. IDAHO is #2.

Thus, MWC is a big improvement for Boise.

Funny thing is they used to be a jr college. The college overall could get a little better if they get in a conference where they can make more money.

How good your program/team is doesn't matter as much as how many TV sets you can turn on and how many tickets you sell.
