Awesome, awesome commentary.

A&M would be fools to tag along with UT to the PAC-X.

Why UT can't see that the SEC is the best deal they can get is beyond me.

A&M needs to take this stand for their own future.

Hop is the best publisher A&M has and is well connected.

I'm starting to believe the Ags and Tigers will be playing again very soon!

great read thanks for posting

all comes down to the egos of UT. they have put the SEC down for years about their academic standards and how much better UT is. I dont know if they will be able to get past that aspect, even if it means losing out on millions each year

Good article.

I especially like how he ties aTm culturally and economically to the SEC.

UT will figure out a way to spin the SEC putdowns if they think they can make another nickel. At UT, it's all about the $$$. No matter what they say, with UT you follow the money and you'll find the truth.

Interesting article and it mentions travel. Think about travel for sports like basketball and baseball and how many games are played in those sports.

that brings up another point about big12 teams going to the pac10

how the hell are the lesser sports, baseball, track, volleyball, etc. suppose to afford to go on such long roadtrips?

Yep. A Pac16 will absolutely kill the athletic budgets of the teams.

The SEC is the only logical choice.

if that was/is the case, then they are a sure lock for the SEC

Excellent piece on TAMU's situation.

I really think Texas is looking to make a few more $$$, but also keep a competitive edge. They become top dog in the PAC-10+6 immediately, but they'd have to prove it in the SEC with 3-4 other teams...and they'd have to do so consistently.

In a sense, UT is looking to pull the ultimate "bitch move".
