UT is going west and the Big 10 is trying to force ND's arm to join by potentially raiding the Big East thereby totally fricking up their non-football sport scheduling/affiliations.

Makes sense to me. I think that's one of the biggest things for UT - their own network. That's big money...not that they need it but they do want it.

The Big 10 should force their member institutions to stop scheduling ND. That would get them to join. ND may already see the writing on the wall though . . .

The Big East has supposedly issued the ultimatum to ND that they join in football or be kicked out for all other sports. This is push them to the B10.

Big 10 will say thank you to them in that case
They'll add ND and maybe Rutgers to the Big 10 and the Big East will be in danger of collapse again

The big east just sunk there ship IMO. If they are not careful, their conference pres will be looking for a new career ala the Big 12 pres.

Because as an athletic and university function, they are better then 95% of the others. And, I hate ND.

This was going to happen sooner or later with people like UConn coach Randy Edsall agitating loudly over it.
The BE's football schools weren't happy with ND stealing their bowl bids without the common courtesy of a reach-around for most of them.

On the contrary... I think this is the Big Easts only chance to survive as a BCS football conference. If Notre Dame doesn't join the Big-10, the Big-10 will dismantle the Big East to get ND. If ND joins the Big-10, they might stop expanding and not raid the Big East. It's not a good chance, but it's their only chance.

Fans of the Big East football schools would be thrilled with this. He is just another Providence old school BE basketball guy with no vision.

Exactly. And to the poster above commenting that Edsall should be fired....why? Becuase he had the guts to point out publicly that ND was a drain on the conference unless it is willing to share its football pie? And as far as performance goes, I think Edsall has done a hell of a job.
