no matter the scenario with the Big 10/Pac10/SEC they are screwed in every way

would they go to the Mountain West? would they stay in a reconstituted Big12?

I think the rest of the Big 12 will be in the MWC.

KSU would really suffer in the MWC

This would also be a good chance for the MWC to get a BCS bowl, likely the Fiesta. Now they need to add Boise State too.

what i think kansas should do is just play football and all the other sports in the MWC but be independent in bball.

You ever seen in a movie where a family leaves a little kid somewhere and doesn't realize it till they're halfway home?

I think in 2014 mid-season somebody is gonna say OH shite WE LEFT KANSAS AT THE GROCERY STORE! and we'll drive back and Kansas will be sitting there crying and we'll have to buy them ice cream on the way home so they don't tell anybody it happened.

Kansas, Kansas State, and Missouri are all top 15 teams this year in basketball.

KSU will suffer anywhere. That's why they are KSU.

you can't be independent in basketball nowadays... the only other ones are north carolina central, savannah state, longwood, and cal state bakersfield

The Mountain West isn't a bad conference in basketball. BYU, UNLV, New Mexico, and San Diego St. all made the NCAA Tournament.

Kansas, KSU, Mizzou and all them should just make a basketball super conference.

If the Big 12 folds, there is a chance the ACC folds (due to SEC poaching)...perhaps the ACC leftovers can team up with Kansas and Mizzou to make a formidable hoops conference...

Really, I think the best thing for them to do would be to get with the MWC and form some sort of Big Sky or Plains or Mountain Conference with the likes of Boise and Utah. I think that would be a pretty respectable conference for most sports.

The rumblings at home (Iowa) involve the remainder of the Big XII North getting a couple of teams with the Big East (Cincy, Louisville) and forming a super Basketball conference that would be lucrative and rival the ACC.

Just some thoughts that I have and have heard.

ehh travel issues would kill that

it isnt easy to get planes in and out of the east coast and the midwest in january and february. basketball teams in the Big 12 can bus and use commuter planes to fly to mid week games. not to mention the sky high costs of women's sports playing in a far flung conference

Chicken, I'm thinking more of the Big East folding w/ ND going the Big 10 route and after the SEC poaching, the ACC picks up the leftovers.

why wouldnt the remnants of the Big 12 go after the Memphis/Houston/TCU/Rice schools and have a smaller conference?

we arent taking into account raiding CUSA and the like
