If all the big dogs leave your conference, just STAY PUT. Free ticket to the BCS every single year, and you can schedule beaucoup good OOC games.

if all the big dogs leave the Big 12 will no longer be a BCS conference

Is what you're really actually suggesting that they should be an independent?

No. Stay in the Big "12," keep that conference together at 8 or 9, and win it literally every year. Do like Florida State did. Win a weak arse conference year in and year out and feel free to schedule bad-arse OOC games.

Still confused by jumping to the PAC 10. Seems the SEC makes the most sense for any Texas school maybe even Oklahoma schools too. Team travel, fans travel, revenue the SEC seems like the better choice. Then the PAC 10 wants two BCS bids and without a conference title game too! I think any conference with 12 or more should be required a conference title game. If you have two divisions you need a title game.

Texas' OOC opponents in the post-Arky SWC:
Oklahoma every year
Mississippi State
Syracuse
North Texas
Colorado
Syracuse
Louisville
Pittsburgh
Louisville
Colorado
Hawaii
Pittsburgh
Notre Dame
Virginia
They only scheduled one single cupcake in a half decade.

Oklahoma's hinging on what Texas does, it sounds like. If Texas doesn't leave, the Sooners won't, so not an auto to the BCS every year. Or you can go to the Pac 10, get more money, and have the only team you have to worry about be the Sooners and a (for now) distraught USC program.

Staying put doesn't get us the TV $$. Adding Houston and TCU to the conference therefore doesn't help solve the problem that created this mess.
Peeps at FOX want to sign on and show Texas vs. UCLA, and Texas vs. Cal. Not Texas vs. Houston.

especially since the rumored plan is to have two 8 team divisions and only playing one team from the other division each year.
