Just wanted to throw it out there. Any homegrown talent that USC is interested in that this might have an effect on, or some other national recruits that might cross USC off the list, if this 2 year postseason ban is true

I think Rasco has interest in them as well. Unfortunately, we stay east with our recruiting and don't bring in any California talent, so outside of this year, I don't think it will help us all too much

What a waste of his time though, he's not going to win a national championship or play in the Rose bowl if the 2 year post season ban is true. I expect him to be gone after his Junior year.

It really depends on the number of schollys taken this year. Most of the kids recruited this year will not see the field while under the post-season ban. It will only affect the number of kids USC can sign. Depth will be an issue for SC in the years to come.

I think that helps with Mickey Johnson.

I wonder how the guys that are already committed are taking this news and what their plans are....

I'm sure Kiffen is selling the fact the sanctions will not affect their playing time at SC and with less depth the kids they do sign will see big minutes. My question is are recruits too stupid to see thru what the SC staff is selling? My guess is no.

What about Mitch Mustain. I think he could transfer and play right away because of the probation.

I think M. Johnson and Rasco were the only two LA kids looking at U$C this year.

However, I'm wondering if it will help or hurt in the long run. Ed O is always in LA recruiting our guys and if they have only a certain number of players they can persue, it makes me wonder if he will be here concentrating on our stud players harder.

My guess is YES. Well, maybe not stupidity as much as willful blindness. Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron are two of the slimiest bastards to ever walk this planet -- and that's not opinion; empirically, they're the slimiest -- and any recruit willing to listen to their overhyped bullshite has GOT to know he's getting the ole-song-and-dance. Yet, these repugnant little imbeciles continue to get good recruits. It's fascinating to watch . . . like a train wreck.

if players can transfer out of programs without penalty due to NCAA sanctions, why not pick up the phone and call some of their sophs and Jrs?

esp guys we recruited that picked SC.

raid the cupboard!

I dont see how it hurts us. Any prospects who were considering USC, will probably move SC down on their list. We might not land a prospect directly because of this, but it might take the edge off of louisiana recruits thining about Southern Cal.

I don't understand why big minutes and early time would be a good sell tool to a recruit.

You would be playing for NOTHING!

Now if you grew up there and love USC, I understand that, but going there from out of state to play for nothing

Down 30 schollies over the next 3 years will limit who they can go after. I suspect they will try to lock up their local, natural recruiting area and not go so nation-wide.

USC's days as a national recruiting power may have ended. With the re-emergence of UCLA as a PAC-10 power, they will have to battle it out for local talent. The only advantage USC had over UCLA was tradition and now that is tainted.
