I love Mad Men. That is an example of a character driven show done right. Treme would be the opposite.

I enjoy Treme more, but I know a lot of locals in Treme, if I didn't I would imagine I would enjoy Mad Men more. (Although I am also sure I would still enjoy Treme.)

I think Treme does a lot of things right, the acting is great and like the Wire its execution allows you to experience its "slice of life" aspects without a narrative. But the one big criticism I would have for it is that it doesn't go far enough in aligning itself with serious issues and events that happened after Katrina. The housing fight is good, but it is the only time the story really addressed a serious post Katrina issue.

My biggest pet peeve to go with this criticism is the absence of Nagin. He HAS to be in this show ASAP. I don't care if he is in archive footage or just mentioned here and there in on camera debates. That "Chocolate City" only got one throw away line is crazy...
