What stage/level/mission of a game was your hardest to complete?

One that comes to mind was from GTA:San Andreas
It was the mission where you had to drive around the city in the Lambo under a certain amount of time without even getting a scratch on the car. You basically had to floor it the whole way around the course. Took me and my roomate a few hours to do.
what you got?

Psycho mantis on MGS at a time where I believed looking for any tips at all online was cheating.
Was also the time I became aware of the level of "trust" I put into a game developer to be honest with me while I played their game

The hardest mission for me on gta San Andreas was the one where you had to fly the remote control airplanes and kill the guys then fly all the way back before running out of gas I believe.

Final level of ninja gaiden 2 especially the last boss. It was one of those moments where it wasn't even fun anymore. I was just so damn pissed off at the game that I wasn't going to stop until I won. Damn dragon at the end was fricking unbelievably hard.

Sometimes you have to outwit the game design.
ETA: The term "Nintendo Hard" doesn't exist for nothing. Pretty much any American port of a Japanese game prior to the advent of 3d graphics is a ballbreaker.

Figuring out what the frick to do in Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest in the time before GameFAQs.
A lot of sequels deviated greatly from the original in the NES days (Zelda and Mario, for starters), but this one sucked donkey balls. I can recall wandering around aimlessly for a few days before I put it away and never played again.

I kinda remember doing that in Metroid as well on NES. And then one day I happened to figure out where I was supposed to go, and then I found Mother Brain, and beat that bitch. I was fricking ecstatic.
