Matt Jackson of a Houston sport radio 790AM states a few interesting things about DeShields on his twitter account over last half hour:
he said that DeShields will be tough to sign because he wants to play football and baseball at LSU, that will be tough considering he only has a baseball offer.

you can't play football if you are on a baseball scholarship if i recall, so unless LES wants to give it to him,

Harold said he went early because he told them he wants to sign

yeah, that's why I said it'd be tough for him to do both here, because football, thus far isn't an option. He'd have to be on football scholly if he were to do both.

Just confused on this....if he comes to LSU...he has to enter the mlb draft again or he is automatically asigned to houston.

yes you can. he could play as a walk on. but would you really pass up being selected in the 1st round? what would he really be playing college ball to improve on?

he would reapply jr year. Some teams will pay for your tuition to keep you as I understand it or some deal like that, and take you after the three years at college or after your graduate.

No you can't. You can't walk on for football if you are on scholarship for another sport, you have to be on a football scholarship.
