So is Ray Allen the GOAT now since he put up 30+ points, broke the 3pt record, and led his team to a finals win.

When one of them drops 38 on the team with the best record in the NBA, with 2 Hall of Famers, in the Finals, on the road, while suffering from the flu.....I might consider this.

Kobe isn't even top 10 of all time players right now, and these morons are claiming he's GOAT. Kobe has yet to even win a playoff series unless his team has the most talented front court in the NBA and top 2 NBA talent as far as the team goes.

Kobe is a great player, but the obsession with him by some Lakers fans is utterly ridiculous.

I'd put Kobe in at 10 or 9.

It's a less ridiculous statement than saying he's the GOAT.

MAYBE by the end of his career, but I am not sold at all on that.

He's not even top 4 in Lakers' history.

Abdul-Jabbar, Magic, and Shaq are easily above him. Next I'd put West.

He is a great player though, and will likely move into #4 at the end of his career. That's not even including Wilt Chamberlain in there.

Eh, the more and more I look at Shaq, the lack of another dominate big man pops him out of the top 10.

If Kobe doesn't win a championship this series he probably won't win another IMO.

I think Lebron is going to pair up with another superstar and that team will probably dominate the league. I also think the thunder are on the cusp of taking over also. They have money to sign someone and they have two mid first round picks.

Yet, you ignore what Shaq did WITH great big men in the league. He didn't become dominant in the past 10 years. It was his first years that were what separated him.

Agreed. The one time he faced a dominant center, Dream school him badly. I know Shaw was still young, just saying.

Very good point. That would make Kobe at best #6 right now if you put him ahead of Wilt Chamberlain. Then people completely ignore so many other players that Kobe is not in the same league as including:

MJ, Bill Russell, Hakeem, etc.

He went toe to toe with Hakeem before his prime in the NBA finals.

not gona happen in Cleveland for sure. Chicago makes the most sense but his ego as the chosen 1 might get in the way of all this

So that makes Kobe, at best, #7 in Lakers history, much less in NBA history.

I still think he'll end up top 5 in Lakers history, and MAYBE #10 all time.
