Looking at our stats compared with UCLA's I found something really interesting. Even though their team batting average is only .011 points lower than ours they only have TWO players with over 100 Total Bases on the year where as we have SEVEN. I thought this disparity was rather drastic after seeing that our team batting averages are not that far apart - even though we are obviously the superior hitting team.

UCLA runs total at 404. That's 7.08 a game.

LSU runs total at 491. That's 8.05 a game.

Their ballpark is much shorter in the power alleys and center field. The corners at 330 are the same as the Box.

I know the box is 10 ft. deeper in center, but I thought theirs was 10 ft. deeper in the alleys.

They are only 5' deeper in the alleys versus the Box.

Theirs is 5 feet deeper in the alleys, my mistake.

But the porch in center is 10 shorter.

And Alex Box is 330, 365, and 405 if I'm not mistaken. So there's not a drastic difference in total field surface.

BIG difference though in coming from the Hoover Met which is

The source I used is 2 years old LINK, but another Rant thread also gave the same dimensions as the ones I provided.

Another difference in the ball making it out of the park is the height of the outfield fence. Theirs is a uniform 8' height while the Box is 10' - 15'.
