To spin off Lacour's thoughts on the worst adaptation, what is the best?

For me, in order (not counting his prison movies):
Needful Things
Delores Claiborn
Misery

Shawshank and Green Mile are obvious, which is why I didn't want to include the prison movies.

Forgot Stand by Me was a short story by him. Great call.

Loved the movie, but always had a problem that they changed the ending so much. That's one reason they re-did it on TV, although it was poorly done.

Major drawback no doubt. And even if King himself didn't like it imo Nicholson's performance made this movie an all-timer.

Firestarter and Misery.

Also, his book "Gerald's Game" is phenomenal, and I heard they're shopping around for a director.

I really liked that movie.

A lot of the major motion pictures made from King stuff are done well. I loved Needful Things.

The TV stuff is usually what is crap.
