Yes, because Lost was what it was. There was never an assumption of plausibility that other shows offer but never produce.

so, Burn Notice is passing itself off as a "How to be a Spy" manual in your eyes?

No, but its not passing itself off as a flight of fantasy either. I understand the show is one where the viewer is expected to suspend their notion of reality. Some may enjoy such a program, I don't.

Which makes you incapable of assessing the actual quality of the show. It is just garbage if it doesn't measure up to your completely arbitrary standards of plausibility.

What shows out there don't expect you to suspend your notion of reality? Films and television series are fake, even the ones purporting to be reality.

But I did assess the essential quality of the show, as I define it, and it failed to pass muster. That's how I formed my opinion.

It took a while but you finally get it.

Not many. Some are worst than others, some are actually fairly solid in their presentation, some are more watchable than others, but there isn't a lot on tv that's praiseworthy.

If your opinion is completely arbitrary and subjective, why exactly do you feel the need to share it with others?

Probably for the same reasons you and others post subjective opinions and arguments on this board. I'm not unique.

Then accept Burn Notice for what it and the rest of the shows on USA are, popcorn television. You're supposed just sit back and enjoy the ride, not think about things too much.
