Well, the NCAA is supposed to make public their findings tomorrow. I can't wait and hope they throw the book at them. Anyone else keeping up with this? Do you think we would get the AP title and would they require reggie to return the heisman he won?

The NCAA can't tell the Associated Press what to do.

No Heisman winner has ever been required to vacate their trophy, and there have been some guys who've done much worse than accept a house.

I don't want the AP title. Screw em. It's illegitimate anyway. Bunch of flower children voting on a paper champion does nothing for me.

Good luck taking away all the feel good and emotions their players and fans had during that time, who cares if you take the hardware

It was worthless back then because it was a part of the process of the BCS...now that it is totally separate it has worth.

no, silly rabbit,
ap trophies are for kids.

we don't need no stinkin' ap trophy.

the bcs was created b/c the ap was owned by usc, n.d., mich, ohio, etc. not the SEC.
even half of al's n.c.'s are not ap.

ap is a bunch of high school nerds who never played a sport.

when a title is vacated the other team does not get it.

see Villanova vs Western Ky.

Villanova won fair and square. Howard Porter had contacted an agent. the agent didnt get to play.

W KY does not get the title on the all time list of hoops champs.

LINK

oh, and the last sentence:

That could not only lead to television and postseason bans, but the football program could be forced to forfeit victories from 2003 to 2005.

This will have the longest affect on USC's program. Tell a recruit his team can't go to a bowl game for the first two or three years of his eligibility and see what happens.

That would be fine with us. We would then be once and for all the one and only Champions of 2003 and nobody would ever try to call us Co-Champs for the 2003 season again.

Screw being given the AP trophy, that's all we ever wanted from the start of this BS was to finally be the Only and True Champion when talking about who won the National Championship in 2003.

Come to USC. You might not get to go to a bowl until you're a Junior but you can still get crunk and rip your shirt off with Coach O!

It's the EXACT opposite. The fact that the AP was part of the BCS and obligated to vote for the BCS champion and still voted differently means it's the most worthy title of the decade. Nothing was forced or bound by contract. They voted purely with what their eyes told them by the peformances on the field.

Compare to the "2003 BCS title" where the coaches were FORCED to vote for the BCS champion without thought or opinion...even then 3 coaches STILL voted for USC despite being contractually obligated to vote for LSU. That year was a season of two champions, what made by contract and forced and one made by hearts and minds. That makes 2003 AP title the most legit opinion poll of the messed up political forced voting BCS era!

Yes I'm sorry kid we won't be going to Shreveport for the Indy bowl or Boise for the blue field bowl. But chicks wear bikinis all year in LA. Is that ok?

Looks like a flame attempt here....

You're leaving out the small fact that every team, including USC, agreed to the BCS system, not the AP system.
