No grilling at UCLA tailgating?!?!

Just had a caller on Songy tell Buddy and Doucet that out there, due to the threat of wildfires, they do not allow any open flames on campus while tailgating. He lives out there, so I assume he knows what he's talking about it.
Just a heads up if anybody is planning on heading out there and cooking.

That's the rule, but it hasn't stopped some from grilling in the past. We've done it before without hassle.

Just tell them you are using green charcoal, made from recycled pinecones.

so how would you say the authorities are out there? i know here we can cook and drink w/e we want but thats not the same everywhere. will the LSU fans be "shapperoned" by the police?

Hey Ryan - I called UCLA just a little while ago and they said no tailgating. I expect we might see more cops this weekend to curtail this.
Now, South at 3001 Wilshire in Santa Monica is offering to possibly open early on Friday (11am instead of noon). How many of y'all going to the game would go to South early on Friday? They are just a little over 2 miles from Jackie Robinson Stadium.

It could be on account of the year-round fire danger out there. It doesn't rain much in LA, it's usually pretty dry, and massive fires are a yearly occurrence. I used to watch the Malibu hills burn every September and October from my home across the Santa Monica Bay, about 40 miles away.
