Was the omission of "so far" intentional?

I've been very optimistic about this until now but I'm starting to get extremely concerned. The only purpose for these attempts to plug the well appear to be to appease the public while they drill the relief well. I'm beginning to doubt that BP can even pull the relief well off. This could be one of the most serious situations in the history of mankind unfolding right before I very eyes.

Translation. It's not working and by the way we're sorry we didn't tell anyone we stopped the ops. Too much oil is going out of the riser and not going down the hole.

BP could really do themselves a world of good if they would just have some in the way VP give the public accurate updates.

I'm wondering if Obama wishes he could go back in time a few hrs and not accept responsibity for stopping the leak, now that he knows it isn't working. I believe the DC folks actually thought this would work and that's why Obama came out and wanted to take responsibility as they were going to get the job done.

My brother is a chemist and he said it "top kill" wouldnt work because they did a research at LSU so junk shot is just like throwing a bunch of crap to clog it right?

Yeah he had two choices, he could either take public responsibility and then hope the topkill worked, or wait until it didn't work and then say he was taking over.

If it doesn't work he would have probably liked to have done the latter.

The article says nothing of the sort. Why are you rewriting the Post's headline?

You obviously haven't visited their website. They are doing a great job communicating what is known.

The problem is that there are simply some things that are not known with complete accuracy. BP is (correctly) not claiming they know what they don't know. I wish posters would do that much.
