Sheriff's deputies said the victim was randomly attacked April 10 during a party in a field off Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Deputies said witnesses told them Fleming showed up at the party looking to fight one particular person. That person wasn't there, deputies said, so the 16-year-old was picked at random to fight.

He was hit in the mouth and kicked several times in the head, deputies said. Fleming and the 16-year-old did not know each other, deputies said.

The 16-year-old went home with a friend after the party, deputies said. He went to the hospital the following day, where he was diagnosed with a severe concussion, deputies said.
