but was it seedless? The GF always makes seedless blackberry jelly when the blackberries ripen...which should not be too long...How were the berries this year? We have not had a lot of rain so I'm thinking the blackberries are going to be small.

I strained the berries so the jelly is pretty much seedless, but it does have a light texture and a dark, rich color. It was my first foray into making jelly. I saved the strained berries to see how they do in a cobbler and I saved some extra syrup to see how it does in a cocktail.
I have pear and fig trees, too, for later.

jealous
you sure make someone a good wife
I love homemade preserves..
BTW - with that fig tree, I have a recipe for strawberry preserves made with figs and strawberry jello.
Grandma used to make it, as a kid I thought it was better than the real strawberry preserves.

did ya bake a pie and put it in the winda' sill to cool, only to have it stolen by a lovable hobo?
that's old school cornbread. Do you have dewberries in your yard growing wild? does anyone actually grow these intentionally?
these are the ones that look like smaller blackberries but are sometimes raspberry colored as well?

Also over the weekend I made mint juleps with fresh apple mint and they were top drawer.
