In recent years, 40 wins has been the magic number for at-large berths among members of non-power conferences. As we approach the beginning of conference tournament action, several schools are approaching this mark.
• Southeastern Louisiana moved back into first in the Southland over the weekend and is up to 39 wins; that should make the Lions a more secure candidate for an at-large bid than league co-leader Texas State (31-19).
Conference tournament upsets will likely skew that number, but will the burst bubbles come from the smaller conferences? In cases like the Southland, it's likely that either Texas State or Southeastern Louisiana would miss out on the NCAA tournament if they lost in their conference tournaments
So if SLU wins 40 games, they are in, unless they don't win the conference tournament, then they are out. What if both finish with the same regular season record and both have same win loss in the tournament. Seems to me SLU would get the nod.

I'm kinda hoping for the Atlanta regional

Host teams are cringing at LSU being a possible 3 seed in their regional.
Offensively LSU can do some damage and if they just get a servicable performance from someone they can easily run through a regional. Super Regional is where their pitching will be exposed.

Oxford Regional
Ole Miss
Louisiana-Lafayette
California
Murray State
Murray scores a million runs and has no pitching.
They have an undefeated pitcher with a 6.0 era.

I'm just hoping the Tigers can recover and make any regional at this point. Maybe things can start to turn around tonight.

Did I just count 10 SEC teams making regionals?

I'd be scared shitless to have LSU as a 3 seed. Offensive explosion.

I love LSU Baseball, but this years team is not going to EASILY run through ANY regional of ANY kind! SEC tourney, if we make it, could be really bad also, cause all teams are very good!
