Wow, at 5-10 and 200 lbs, Ford must be nothing but muscle to have done that well.

Wonder what his 40 was and if he can carry the rock without dropping it.

Freshman Michael Ford produced some impressive numbers, including a team-best 42 inches in the vertical jump and 352 pounds, which ranked second on the squad, in the clean. Ford also benched 425 pounds and squatted 510 pounds, both ranking among the top five on the team.

what a freak, thats impressive to lift that much along with the vertical

Mingo = Freak Monster......bench pressing 375 with his long arms and low body weight is SICK!

Ford and Peterson are also not human.

Good Job PJ too.

Think if Ford is given a shot he could be special. As excited about him at RB as I have anyone in a few years.

Only 2 guys benched over 400 pounds? Am I reading that right?

Remember the thread a couple years ago about how 80 guys on LSU's team could bench over 400?

I'm confused. Somebody help me out.

Congrats to Moffit and the players. Now all we need is for Miles to improve and we'll be allright.

Maybe they figured out all that muscle mass was slowing guys down.

ETA:

Also - This year's team is pretty young. Give a few of these guys another year or so.

Speed is so much more important.

quote:

Patrick Peterson (CB) 4.20
Ron Brooks (CB) 4.23
Drayton Calhoun (DB) 4.24
Morris Claiborne (CB) 4.25

Even if they are off some with the hand timing, our secondary should be sick. There's no reason we shouldn't have a top 20 defense and be top 10 in turnover margin.

Noticed in clean, jerk,& bench that P.J. Lonergan was 1st(school record),4th,& 4th respectively in listed categories. Hurst & Dworaczyk were other O-Linemen listed. Hurst was 5th in clean and Dworaczky was 4th in clean & 3rd in bench. Hopefully, their conditioning will translate over to a much improved performance on the O-Line this season. Geaux Tigers!!

I find hit hard to believe there was ever any Div. 1 school with 80 players who can bench over 400 pounds.

Cornerback Patrick Peterson was hand-timed at 4.2 in the 40-yard dash, while fellow cornerbacks Ron Brooks (4.23), Drayton Calhoun (4.24) and Morris Claiborne (4.25) all went sub-4.3 in the hand-timed 40. Peterson also went 535 pounds in the squat, ranking second on the team along with Nevis. Freshman linebacker Kevin Minter led all Tigers in the squat at 545 pounds. Freshman Michael Ford produced some impressive numbers, including a team-best 42 inches in the vertical jump and 352 pounds, which ranked second on the squad, in the clean. Ford also benched 425 pounds and squatted 510 pounds, both ranking among the top five on the team.
