Evidently they found a calm spot in the rough seas. You've got to know those secret places out there.

not sure, i dont even know what day they went out, he was busy and did not have much time to talk. but yeah it could be BS he was not with the people who claimed they had to throw the fish back. might have just been an excuse for not catching shite

they probably just got caught fishing in a closed zone

Probably so. I find it odd that they make you throw back dead fish why not issue a ticket and let you keep them after all they area already dead.
The feds just extended the offshore closure zone all the way west to Point au Ferre

I posted on another topic, but I have received a call from my charter in Cocodrie that my trip is cancelled. They said the Wildlife & Fisheries have shut them down COMPLETELY! No fishing allowed at this point.
So it's true and you can call em to check. Just call any charter you know of, they will explain.
FWIW, why would you think someone would lie about throwing fish back? You think they want people getting sick and jumping on the lawsuit wagon?

ya my cousin has a boat he fishes on and occasionally takes people out on and he said the same thing about them making them throw the fish out when they come back

According to wildlife and fisheries, as long as you don't stop in a closed area will running in from offshore and or possess fish in a closed area that could be caught within the boundaries of the closed area.

Need to clarify. Was going with secretaries husband who oversees more than 30 production wells in Gulf. He got the call from from the Marina where our reservations were booked saying they were cancelled and the Wildlife n Fish were involved in the decision. I understood that meant charters were also cancelled, and well could be, but maybe they can still charter but you just can't stay.
I am waiting on an email clarifying it all from our charter.

I didn't like Wildlife and Fisheries before this incident. Pain in the arse. Sort of like rent a cops.

They actually have more power and jurisdiction than the Sheriff and State Police do.
They are hardly rent a cops.

The question I would like someone to answer is,have any of the fish been tested and when will the public get to see the results. I just can`t believe no testing on seafood has been done.

that is why there are closures. Although mostly for precautionary measures. I'm sure DHH and DWF aren't going to let seafood enter into the food chain until all test prove that the fish, shrimp, oysters, crabs, etc are free and clear.

Not to mention, they can search anything they want without a warrant or reasonable cause.

If one of those has it, they all have it. They all kinda eat each other or the saemt hing really.
I've heard that oysters are just about a done deal. THey stay basically in one place and on the bottom and they already were/are under close scrutiny when it comes to serving them anyway.
I LOVE SEAFOOD!! This will suck and prices of it all will have to increase greatly if there is a halt in commercial fishing in the gulf
