End of the Tiger Woods Era?

This was probably touched on in the Tiger thread, but could the period of domination by Tiger Woods be over?
Let's look at the whole picture:
- Mountains of off-course issues effecting his life
- A few serious injuries over the last 3-4 years
- Nearing 35 years old
- Played at a ridiculous level consistently from end of 1999 to mid-2008.
Maybe we should see how he does at Pebble Beach, and I still believe he will break Nicklaus' record, but the years of at least one guaranteed major maybe gone.

I don't think he's done by any means yet. He's still got some time to get his shite straight and win 5 more majors.
The biggest concern in all of this should probably be his latest injury. If he has a herniated cervical disk and needs surgery, he'll be out for the rest of the year most likely. That could be career threatening.
If this injury heals, I expect him to be right there come this time next year and for the foreseeable future. Barring any other injuries or off course problems, I expect him to be a major factor for the next 10 years.

I think he needs a year off to get his life together and "heal". You can tell he's not focused. Just need to get away from golf and the media for awhile.

I will echo some sentiments I heard last night on the Golf Channel, as they summed up just about exactly what I was feeling:
When you saw Tiger emerge from the fitness trailer after WD'ing from the tournament, it was the first time since 1999 that I thought "if" Tiger would ever break Jack's record rather than "when."

It is too early to throw dirt on Woods career yet. But it puts into perspective how difficult doing what he is trying to and what Jack did is.
He needs FIVE more majors. That is Nick Faldos career!!! He needs another HOF career worth of accomplishments to do it (I think Nick won 6 actually).
It just makes Jacks 18 majors chase alot more interesting.

He needs to get away for a year or so. Look what it did for MJ. MJ's life was pretty fricked up, and that year away allowed him to straighten it all out.

He's probably just really horny and can't concentrate.

I don't think he wins another Major.

Not by a long shot. He'll get his life together (the divorce will help his image), get his fitness together and together with Nike will launch one of the biggest public comebacks. The media will be all over him. Give it about 6 months.

If he's got a herniated disk in his neck, it's not as serious as you might think. I had two in 2003 and the pain got the point where I relented and had the surgery.
I wish now I had had the surgery right away and saved myself two months' worth of pain and misery. I had two disks completely removed and three vetebrae fused - OUTPATIENT.
I went back to work in three days and was unrestricted in a month.
I was much older than Tiger and admittedly not in as great a shape. If he does this, he'll have a fantastic prognosis physically.

If he has a radiculopathy that is a fairly long injury. He will have the best PT and sports med and chiro available. This type of injury is all about proper alignment and opening the disc space so it goes back into place. That is the non surgical approach. Be curious to see what he does. If this is legit. FWIW I think it is.

Noway. Once he gets through with the wife and he can get back out there humping the strange stuff, he'll be back on top. Seems like giving up the strange was the worst possible thing he could of done, for his golf game.
