A plausible solution to the QB situation here at home.

When it comes to quarterbacks at LSU, I don't think we've been properly placing the blame. We were upset because Jared Lee didn't seem to improve at all the whole year he started, but now Jordan Jefferson looks the same this spring as he did against Arkansas in 2008. As much as I want to sit here and blame Gary Crowton for his clear inability to train quarterbacks, I know that wouldn't get us anywhere. As much as I've heard about Coaches under Les Miles complain that he doesn't even walk into game prep meetings with a plan (Bo Pelini had a huge issue with this), I have to admit that Miles is a good face for LSU football, and Crowton is good at creating offensive plays (when he has a nfl caliber qb running them).
I understand we have recently acquired new coaches including one from Florida to help with the passing game, but I think the level of individual coaching that we need is much higher than that. With Gonzales most likely focusing on making RS the next Percy Harvin, and with Crowton curled up in his dark office writing mathematical equations similar to John Nash that not even his players can comprehend, JJ and JL are not getting enough attention.
Either a new coach needs to be hired to work with the qbs all day everyday this summer, or we need to hire a temp coach for the summer from New Orleans.
I know this is just my opinion, but I'd also like to remind people that JL might have thrown a lot of pics, but he also scored a lot of points. I personally was one who was begging for JJ to be in the game. Seeing that LSU's defense is in the top 25 in run yards and pass yards per attempt, and knowing that they were on the field so long that they had to have been worn out by the 2nd quarter, it's safe to say the situation is a lot different than 2008. I know there are alot of JJ fans, and I'm one of them, but I think if JJ does not start scoring points, then we should go back to JL, because I think we can afford to gamble more now that we have a good defense.
They are both tremendous atheletes and good people for enduring the criticizm the get from us lowly fans. I will say this much though, from an atheletes point of view. I enjoyed seeing that ashamed, disgusted, and embarrased look on JL's face after making mistakes much more than I enjoyed seeing JJ cracking jokes and laughing on the sideline when his team was losing. Not taking anything away from JJ, but to me, I just think JL might be more of an emotional competitor. Whichever one of them that does start, better learn how to take risks next year, because we still aren't going to have a running game.

Maybe the defense can slow down offenses just enough to allow long drives that keeps the offense off the field.
You'll need a good OL and a strong running game to be successful this yr. Without that, I don't think either JJ or JL can get it done.

hard to have a strong running game when we cant pass against 8 men in the box

It's hard to be successful at anything when the o-line sucks!

It's been done before, and that's what it's going to take IMO until some talent shows up at QB. RShep to the edges will help.

The problem with JL was that he would let the other team score before our defense could get onto the field. If we put JL in, we need to put Patrick Peterson in at tailback.

I would agree that as of now I don't know if either is the answer we need. Whomever wins the starting job should have a short leash IMO. I am sure JJ will get it and if we see nothing new the first few possessions against UNC, then I will be all for seeing JL get a few possessions.

Might give JL some confidence if he knows he has someone behind him who can tackle

are you serious that Miles never has a game plan, I mean it would appear so but is that internet bull shite are reliable info?

I didn't know "Jared" Lee was a QB. Maybe we should give him a try at QB.

What are your sources?
It appears to be true based on my observations and if it is, Miles is way overpaid and needs to go.

We've got enough NCAA problems already. No coaching until Fall Camp starts.

Jefferson is a good QB. He can get it done with a good O Line and running game.

Coaches can't coach in the summer.
