His reviews are VERY well written too. Like everyone he has his own personal tastes, but if you read enough of his reviews you can start to filter through and figure out which likes and dislikes of his are apt to be yours as well.

I like Dave Whites reviews on movies.com. Funny and normally agrees with my taste.

Ebert actually makes that point as well. A film critic's reviews should be informative enough that the general reader not only identifies the critic's likes and dislikes but also understands them. That way, the reader develops an informed opinion as to whether he or she will appreciate the movie or not.
