horrible athlete, not as tall as you'd like for an OT, and he has medical red flags

this is why you leave early

His knee's have to be shot, this is the only reason why he is where he is today. Other than the fact that he played overweight and did not have a good senior year at all.

This guy was a sure hit #1 after his Sophomore year.

Sucks for Ciron. He would have assuredly been drafted last year. I feel like the coaching staff really let him down.

And you don't feel his lack of self control when he eats has anything to do with him being overweight? The overweight issue surely can't help out the bad knees either.

The coaching staff cannot be blamed for all injuries, especially those during games. I don't know when the last injury occurred, but could explain why his performance suffered in 2009. I heard that he needs a knee replacement, which if true, doesn't suggest a single injury but a worn-out knee over the years.

i'm not blaming the coaches. ciron didn't seem to have the same effort in 2009

was it b/c his knee was shot? this would explain his lack of mobility and inability to get in shape

it may be b/c big herm no longer protected him also

i just think he would have gotten drafted had he come out after 2008

Ciron shouldn't have been on the field for a lot of situations IMO last season. He obviously had something wrong with him and was out there anyway. This hurt our football team as much as it hurt his draft status....... I just feel better decisions could have been made

after the season he had last year, why is this a surprise? WAYYY to many "LOOK OUT" blocks in almost every game. He was great a few years ago, but the experts have spoken-they are not willing to take a chance on a guy whose talent has dwindled and knees are shot. I hope he gets his chance, because its deserved, but it ain't looking too good for the NFL

Why did someone say he was a "horrible athlete"? Is this based on his workouts or general observations? If based on his workouts, couldn't the knee problem cause him to show less explosiveness, etc. I seldom noticed Ciron struggling against the SEC's best pass rushers until this past year. Typically, a less athletic would struggle in those situations.

i was talking to a guy last night that said they were talking about this. maybe someone here saw the same thing he did.

but basically he said that NFL teams said his knees were shot and he should have had surgery while at LSU. i have no idea if that is true.

Ciron Black and Will Arnold need to get together and have a beer or three.

And that's not a coaching issue?

This is EXACTLY what is being said about LSU's staff on all of the programs. Are y'all getting it now? It comes up in every conversation about every LSU player now.

It's for real and it isn't going away! We are not coached in a way that our players have the attitude/intensity/aggressivenes/ or whatever the factor is that makes them play to their talent potential.

"ciron didn't seem to have the same effort in 2009

And that's not a coaching issue?"

Ciron played under Miles in 2006, 2007 and 2008, too. Wasn't the OL coach the same? Strength and conditioning the same? At least in this instance, I find it hard to believe that coaching was the reason that Black had a down year.
